Aggelos Tsakanikas is an Assistant Professor in the field of economic evaluation of technological systems, at the Laboratory of Industrial and Energy Economics (LIEE), National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and Scientific Advisor to the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (FEIR / IOBE). He graduated from the Department of Chemical Engineering at NTUA, where he also conducted his PhD thesis in the area of Technology Economics and Business Strategy. As a research fellow in the Laboratory of Industrial and Energy Economics (LIEE/NTUA) he participated in various European projects in the area of socioeconomics research and information society. He has also been working as an adjunct Lecturer at the University of Peloponese (Department of Economics) from 2003 to 2008. From May 2004 he worked in the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (FEIR/IOBE) as Head of Business & consumer Surveys, from April 2007 as a Head of research and from April 2012 to January 2014 as Research Director. His main research interests and most of his published work are in the area of technology strategy of the firm, business strategy, economics of innovation, entrepreneurship and relevant public policies.

In March 2010 he was elected Assistant Professor at the National Technical University of Athens. He was appointed as an Assistant Professor in February 2014. He teaches at the business administration postgraduate programme "Athens MBA", “Industrial policy and International Competitiveness”. In the context of his research activity has been involved with numerous sectoral studies, quarterly reports on the Greek Economy, studies on entrepreneurship and competitiveness, as well as studies on information society. His research interests include the economics of technological innovation, business strategy, entrepreneurship, and related public policies. He is also a member of the research consortium of Global Entrepreneurship Monitor and a member of the group for technological, Economic and strategic analysis of society of LIEE and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit of NTUA.
