George studied economics at the Athens University of Economics and Business. He holds a M.Sc. from LSE and a PhD in International Finance from the University of Geneva. During 2004-2009, he gave undergraduate and graduate seminars in economics and finance at the Universities of Geneva and Lausanne. During 2010-2017, he worked as an economist at the International Monetary Fund’s office in Greece. His research interests touch upon finance and economic topics with policy relevant implications. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals (Journal of International Money and Finance, CESifo Economic Studies, European Research Studies). His policy relevant contributions have been published in collective volumes (IMF, European Commission, OECD). Since 2017, he is a part-time tutor in economics at the American College of Greece. He joined IOBE in 2017, as the Head of the International Macroeconomics and Finance Unit.
