Catherine Karatzas holds an LLB from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and an LLM from Columbia University in New York. She is a member of the Athens and New York Bar Associations. She worked at Shearman & Sterling in New York and joined Karatzas & Partners in 1992, where she has been Managing Partner since 1996. She is consistently recognized as a leading Greek lawyer in international legal directories and has advised on many landmark Greek transactions. She has received numerous awards, the most recent ones being Thought Leader of the Year – Western Europe (Women in Business Law Awards EMEA 2025) and DEI: Outstanding Contribution (Chambers & Partners Europe Awards 2025).
