Nikolaos Nanopoulos

Mr. Nanopoulos studied Mechanical Engineering (B.S., M.S. at MIT) , Economics (M.Sc.at LSE & Ph.D.at Reading) and Business Administration (MBA at INSEAD). He has over 40 years of experience in the financial services industry. He began his career in the United States at the World Bank (1982–1988), where he rose to the position of Senior Manager in the Treasury Department. He later served as Managing Director at an HSBC securities subsidiary in New York (1988–1990). In 1990, he co-founded Euromerchant Bank, which subsequently evolved into Eurobank where he served as CEO (1996 – 2013). He currently serves as Chairman of DIORAMA Investments I & II and chairs their respective Investment Committees. He is also Chairman of the EFG Investment & Wealth Solutions Advisory Board, Vice Chairman of Lampsa S.A., and a board member of Aegean Airlines, Altius Insurance and the Latsis Public Benefit Foundation. Mr. Nanopoulos is a member of the Somateio of the Hellenic-American Educational Foundation (Athens College) and the CEO Organization, and serves on the Advisory Board of EGG, Eurobank’s incubator for start-up enterprises.
