Business and Consumer Surveys

IOBE has been conducting the Business Surveys in Greece since 1981, within the framework of the relevant Harmonized Program of the European Union. Since 2008, it has also been conducting the Consumer Surveys, within the same framework. These surveys are conducted in all EU Member States on behalf of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs, based on harmonized questionnaires. They measure consumer confidence, business expectations, and the economic climate in each economy.

In Greece, IOBE conducts monthly economic surveys of consumers and businesses in the manufacturing, construction, retail trade, and services sectors, as well as a biannual survey of industrial investment. The monthly Business and Consumer Surveys present and analyze the results of the economic climate surveys, as well as a brief analysis of the short-term prospects for the Greek economy.
