Funding
IOBE is a non-profit, public benefit research organization. As an independent and unaffiliated research organization, it does not have permanent funding from any public or private source. It draws funding from many different sources through sponsorships, donations and support for research projects. Sources of funding have been the European Commission and other international organizations, sectoral associations and unions, chambers, financial institutions, public and private bodies. Public sector funding for specific research projects constitutes a small part of the Foundation’s annual budget.
Sponsorships and donations to IOBE are accepted by decision of the Foundation’s Board of Directors. Based on the principle of transparency, an internal audit of every management period is carried out at the beginning of each year by a body of Certified Public Accountants, by decision of the Board of Directors.
The experience of all the years since the establishment of IOBE in 1975 has shown that the operation of an independent and unbiased research organization that approaches the Greek economy with objectivity and neutrality is of vital importance for Greek society at large. We express our warm thanks to our sponsors and donors and to all the organizations with whom we have collaborated, for their practical support. This continuous support is an honor and proof of the importance of the uninterrupted continuation of the activity of an independent research organization.
