The aim of the study is to examine the size and the key feature of the direct employment in the Greek tourism sector. The study identifies the branches that are directly affected by the development of tourism in the country and estimates the number of employees in these branches. Meanwhile, it also aims to identify similarities and contrasts in the tourist employment between Greece and other countries of the European Union, some of which constitute its key competitive destinations.
