The scope of the study was to emphasise the crucial importance of tourism for the economic and social development of the country. The study established the interrelations of the tourist sectors with other branches of the Greek economy through questionnaire survey with a sample of companies in the sector and estimated the direct, indirect and induced impact of tourism on GDP and employment in Greece.
