Activity at Athens International Airport has surpassed its pre-pandemic levels already since 2023. As the main gateway for the incoming foreign visitors, AIA’s economic system provides significant support to the Greek economy. 3.8% of the country’s GDP (€8.6 billion) can be attributed (directly and through multiplier and catalytic effects) to the activity of the AIA’s economic system.
