The study aims to highlight the role of the food banks as a tried method of fighting food insecurity and waste of resources and to examine ways to strengthen further this role in Greece. To achieve its aims, the study analyses the available data on food insecurity and food waste in Greece, explores the underlying causes of these problems and pursues the possibilities for their more effective resolution.
