Vasilis Nikitas joined the European Commission in 2018 as an economic analyst and is part of DG Economic and Financial Affairs’ team in Athens. Vasilis is Greek-Swedish and holds a degree in business administration and finance from the University of Halmstad (Sweden) and a master’s degree in European political economy from London School of Economics. Before joining the Commission, he worked as a public policy consultant in the Netherlands and United Kingdom, and as a development consultant mainly in the south Mediterranean region on various technical assistance projects, including for the European Investment Bank.
