Following the conference “Integrating Greece into the European Semester Policy Framework: Priorities for sustainable growth and competitiveness” that took place in Athens in 2019, the European Commission in collaboration with the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research - IOBE organize the “European Semester e-Conference on Greece 2020: Stimulating a recovery through investments, digital transformation and green economy.”
This e-Conference on Greece 2020 provides a venue to debate how to ensure a resilient and sustainable return to growth for Greece within the EU context, including aspects of the Next Generation EU recovery strategy. It represents an important opportunity to analyze the challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic but also the opportunities that arise and to discuss the appropriate priorities for policy.
The Conference brings together policymakers, including EU Commissioners, Ministers of the Greek government, private sector representatives, academics and other stakeholders from Greece and across the EU.
In the framework of the Conference, the Commission will present its annual review of the competitiveness of the Greek economy and draft Country-Specific Recommendations to Greece. Ministers and high-level officials will present Greek government’s policy priorities. The conference will also address key recovery issues through a series of policy panels:
