Ioannis Hadjiyiannis has been Head of the Athens Office of the Directorate General for Structural Reform Support (DG REFORM) of the European Commission since September 2018. He is also the DG REFORM Country Coordinator for Greece and Cyprus. Prior to that, he assisted the Head of the Structural Reform Support Service in coordinating the EU support to the management of the migration crisis in Greece. He worked for many years as member of the SRSS Athens office, managing technical support projects for structural reforms in several thematic areas including justice, business environment, employment and social welfare. He also worked for several years as a member of the European Commission's Legal Service in Brussels. He studied law at King's College London and the Catholic University of Leuven and received a postgraduate degree in law from Columbia University in New York. He is admitted to the Bars of Cyprus and New York.
