The main scope of the study is to evaluate the effect from the activity of Pfizer in Greece, both in Athens and in Thessaloniki. The indicators examined in this study are Pfizer’s contribution to Gross Value Added (GVA), Gross Domestic Product (GDP), employment and tax revenues in Greece. In this context the direct, indirect and induced effects are examined at national and local level. The analysis of the data shows that Pfizer's total contribution to the Greek economy over the period 2020-2030 amounts to EUR 1.6 billion in terms of GDP (presented value). The total gross value added produced directly by Pfizer is estimated at EUR 730 million. Therefore, for each EUR 1 direct contribution of the company, a total of EUR 2.18 of GDP is generated in the Greek economy. As regards employment, Pfizer's activity in Greece over the period 2020-2030 is estimated to support (directly and indirectly) a total of approximately 2,600 jobs. The new activity of Pfizer in Thessaloniki is estimated to triple the company’s employees in Greece, while it is estimated that each job in Pfizer supports 3.1 jobs in the Greek economy.
