| The purpose of the study is to assess the economic footprint of the Paper Industry in Greece and to highlight the prospects and key challenges for its further development. The study presents the basic figures and performance of the Paper Industry and records the challenges it faces such as the green transition, digital transformation, the upgrading of human resources and the increased need for funding. It also highlights the importance of energy costs in paper production and examines the energy, environmental and carbon footprint of the Greek paper industry compared to the European one. Finally, some areas of intervention are identified that could contribute to the further sustainable development of the Paper Industry in Greece. |
