Climate change is one of the biggest threats of the 21st century, affecting all types of economic activities. The study maps the trends and prospects of adaptation financing in Greece and globally, while highlights the importance of adaptation related investments, from both public and private sectors. Private sector has a dual role in supporting adaptation, both through investing in solutions that reduce climate risk and from the mobilisation of investments either directly, or through other means of sustainable financing. In this frame, the study identifies the barriers that hinder private investments and suggests measures to increase the speed of adaptation to climate change of the Greek economy. |
